How to Help Hurricane Victims

September 8, 2017 By rebeccacalhoun

In the aftermath of three devastating hurricanes this year, many organizations are pulling together resources for rescue missions and providing supplies for those affected. There is no doubt that the clean up and recovery process will last well into 2018, and so these relief efforts will need ongoing support.

In addition to praying daily for those in crisis, here are some avenues for monetary support.

1.) Resurrection Brooklyn has a disaster relief fund. You can contribute here.

2.) This local church in Houston, City of Refuge Church, set up a relief fund and recorded a podcastto explain where your donations will go.

3.) The EPC has set up an Emergency Relief Fund. In collaboration with the Presbytery of the Gulf South, donations to the fund will be sent to EPC churches in the greater Houston area affected by the storm. Click here to donate online (choose “Emergency Relief” from the first pulldown menu and “Hurricane Harvey Relief (506)” from the second pulldown menu).

4.) Lastly, here is a comprehensive list of all the shelters in the Houston area and their specific needs.

Please consider giving generously to those in need.

June RW Rest

June 6, 2017 By rebeccacalhoun

Our lead pastor, Vito Aiuto, is away on sabbatical this summer. While he is away, we will focus on some of the same themes that will be directing his time, namely, experiencing our identity in  Christ through rest, renewal, and revival. We invite you to join our sabbatical this summer. Come on any Sunday and join us for worship and more. All are welcome to join us, even if this is your first time visiting, please join our sabbatical. Go and live intentionally this summer and receive the rest, renewal, and revival that the Spirit of God is ready to give you. Check out some of the ideas listed inside and consider doing them individually or corporately. We hope that this summer you’ll find rest in Christ!
